Client Advisor_Luxury Sales Associate

We are Sorrel Sky Gallery , a nationally recognized fine art gallery with locations in Durango, CO; Santa Fe, NM; SoHo NYC; and East Hampton, NY. We have an amazing opportunity available for an experienced Client Advisor_Luxury Sales Associate with strong sales ability to join our team.

To be successful in this role, you must be fearless, adventurous and poised in your sales approach, with a drive to succeed. We are seeking an individual who is fully engaged and present in building client relationships and assisting in the day-to-day running of the gallery as part of a small team.

The experience, knowledge and characteristics below will be contributors to success in this role:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in sales in client relationship-building in a high-value fine art or luxury retail location.
  • A demonstrated track record of exceptional sales performance and building strong lasting relationships. Ability to articulate success setting and achieving sales goals.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively connect with people from a variety of backgrounds. Truly enjoy getting to know clientele and building a strong rapport. Ability to converse and build strong lasting relationships with art collectors from all corners of the globe.
  • Bachelor’s degree in art, business, or a related field.
  • Proficient working with technology, including social media. Strong knowledge of Mac Platform. Adobe knowledge a plus.
  • Highly organized (but not rigid) - flexible enough to track multiple priorities simultaneously and pivot as business needs require.
  • Ability to perform under pressure, prioritize and address issues in a timely manner.
  • Strong understanding of premiere client service practices.
  • The gallery is open 7 days/week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Full time associates work a regular 5 day/week schedule that includes 1 weekend day. Additional flexibility/availability may be required on weekends, holidays and/or for shows and events.
  • A high level of business and personal integrity.
  • Strong team orientation.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to stand a good portion of the day, and lift up to 50 lbs. to lift or assist in moving artwork.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Gallery Manager and co-workers to ensure success of the Gallery location.
  • Greet all visitors, and attend to clients to facilitate sales.
  • Attend to clients through the complete process of the sale: creating a lasting memory, maintaining a strong connection, being a problem solver, and ensuring each client or visitor to the gallery has a positive experience interacting with the gallery.
  • Build productive and long-term relationships with clientele; .suggest ways to improve client relationships.
  • Set and achieve sales goals using a positive, kind, and caring approach.
  • Team with co-workers to ensure outstanding customer service.
  • Organize and enter incoming inventory into the gallery’s database.
  • Process purchases using POS system.
  • Display inventory in a creative and compelling way.
  • Maintain knowledge of exhibitions, events, and represented artists and have the talent to represent it uniquely and memorably.
  • Represent the gallery in a professional and knowledgeable manner while facilitating collectors at exhibitions and events.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness in the gallery.
  • Assist staff with other duties as needed.

Industry-leading training and onboarding are provided.

Compensation indicated is for full-time and includes a base pay +attractive commission.
